PK Enrollment Guide

To be eligible for enrollment in a free prekindergarten class, a child must be at least three years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year (if a 3-year-old program is available) or four years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year and meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

A child may qualify if they:

• Cannot speak or understand English
• Are economically disadvantaged (eligible for free/reduced lunch)
• Are experiencing homelessness
• Have a parent in the military (active duty, injured, or killed in service)
• Are or have been in foster care
• Have a parent eligible for the Star of Texas Award (peace officer, firefighter, or emergency responder)

Once your information has been reviewed, we will contact you regarding any additional documentation needed to determine your child’s eligibility for the program.

Please note: Completing these forms does not guarantee a seat for your student. The information collected is used to determine eligibility and process your child’s application.

TBP is committed to offering seats as they become available. You will be notified if your child is either offered a seat or placed on a waitlist.

Homeless Eligibility
A child is considered homeless under federal law (42 USC, §11434a) regardless of the residence of the child, either parent, or the child’s guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.

If your eligibility is approved, you will receive an email with a school token and instructions to complete your student’s registration. The email will look like this:

Please click the link below to create your Skyward Family Access account.

Once you have created your Skyward Family Access account, select 'New Student Enrollment' from the dropdown menu: 

Click on the “2026–2027 New Student Enrollment Form” tile and complete all required forms.
